The Institute is located in the famous
Chickmagalur
city which is 240 kms from Bangalore,
capital of Karnataka and well connected by bus routes to all
the major cities and towns of the state. The nearest railway
station is at Kadur (or Birur) on Bangalore - Bombay broad
guage line, which is 35 kms away. Chickmagalur is reasonably
cool and pleasant for major part of the year. The city is
surrounded by the famous coffee plantations, hills of
western ghats, world famous sculptures of Belur and
Halebeedu temples, ancient historic Sharda - Shankara Peetha
at Sringeri, Annapoorneshwari temple at Hornadu,
Kemmannugundi Hill stations and Bhadra wild life
sanctuaries. |
